Just got back from watching Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. It was positively GLORIOUS.

It really was a fun movie, with practically non-stop action. It was lengthy as I expected (2 hours 45 minutes), but I'm not lying when I say that I enjoyed every second of it. Except at the end, when my bladder pratically gave up on me and I was busy holding it down. Either way, recommended to those who liked the first. I don't know if it was better, but I certainly enjoyed it a great deal. I'm just sad I'll have to wait a whole year to see the series conclude. TT__TT

Oh, and did I mention that just for the sake of my fangirling, I dressed up as a pirate when I went to watch it? I had on black Gauchos, then a layered black and red shirt. It looks pretty normal by itself, but throw on a red bandana and gold hoops, and you have yourself an Asian pirate! Bwahahaz, I didn' get any direct comments, though the guy who was ripping the tickets at the theater told me not to lose it or he'd make me swab the deck. :P

In other news, UVERlove is near completion! I just have to fix some of the technical pages since I updated a few things, but all in all, it's done! I'll be opening it some time today and I'll announce it here and in the LJ comm. Finally, a month later, and here I am. Worst part is that I hate the set up so much, that the second I open it I'm going to work on redesigning it all. Ah, well, I guess it's the content that really counts.

I stopped by Kinokuniya at the mall today, also. I was looking for the latest Pati-Pati, but the lady at the desk said they would call the day they got it in. Apparently there are others waiting on the magazine, and I'll just have to beat them to it. There's some behind-the-scenes info on the SHAMROCK PV in this issue, apparently, so that's why I MUST HAVE IT! Jeez, whoever's been getting these before me, CURSE YOU! They're depriving a rabid fangirl of her monthly dose of UVERworld magazine goodness. T_T

Also, I decided to poke around for "Jihaku", Gackt's biography, in case it was anywhere around. And silly me, I didn't know what the cover looked like, and I couldn't read kanji if it hit me in the face. So, just for future reference, I memorized the cover in the even that I saw it. The only problem that remains is that I have no idea what section it is in the store. It's labeled in Japanese so I couldn't read it if I tried. I must learn kanji soon, dammit! >_<

Jeez, this is proof I am obsessed. I somehow mourn my pathetic-ness. T_T

Anyway, onto the actual points of this entry. I finally listened to some nice Gackt tunes. I was able to acquire Crescent, Mars, Diabolos, and the Mizerable Mini-album (I know this isn't his best stuff, but I am working on getting his other stuff like Love Letter). I've almost heard all the songs, and they all sound fantastic! I think "Redemption" was a bad song to start Gackt with, because not only were the cornrows not his best look, but I don't really like the sound of it. After hearing some of his other stuff, I really appreciate and adore him way more. I guess I like him a little more than HYDE now, though that might only be because I've only heard one of HYDE's albums, lol.

It's sad, the songs I enjoy most done by Gackt are his ballads (and all those other slow, sad love songs). You know, stuff like "Hoshi no Suna", "Tsuki no Uta", etc. I don't know, just the way he sings them, especially "Hoshi no Suna", he sounds so...amazing. His voice just kinda grabs me. His emotion is captured so truly, and I didn't have to look up the translations to understand the kind of feelings he was trying to convey. I actually cried the first time I heard "Hoshi no Suna", which is a first for me. It as well as a few others are so beautiful.

Now, on a really disturbing note, it scares me as to how much I enjoy "Vanilla". I checked up on the translation, and well...let's just say I really shouldn't be enjoying it as much as I do. Why the hell does the whole song have to be a dirty reference, huh, Gackt? It's seriously one of my favorite songs, but if anyone who doesn't understand what it means, I'll never say a word, dammit. >_<

Also, I finally got around to watching "Moon Child" after having it for...I dunno, the past week. It's a pretty nice movie, I guess. It's not a blockbuster, of course, but it's one of those movies you sit down and watch with your friends on a Saturday night, or something. It's not exactly a feel-good flick (I fricken' cried more than once), but I found it enjoyable enough. The whole thing was pretty much eye candy for me (I see HYDE in a new light, now. Very good for his age, certainly, though Gackt is still a bit nicer). Oh, and by the way, I could just listen to Gackt and HYDE talk all day. They're speaking voices are just as beautiful as their singing ones. What was really fun was that Gackt had so many cute, dorky moments, it kinda warmed me up a little. It really was very cute of him, but he (and HYDE) performed decently overall (crying Gackt = KAWAII!!!!). I mean, I've seen people (professionals), perform much worse (*cough*KeanuReeves*cough*), so props to them.

Well, I'll continue my little Gackt-listening trend, so I'll catch ya later.

Just finished watching Munich today. Wow, just wow.

I am not used to these ethical-centered flicks. Really, some of it is too much for a child to understand. I mean, it was a wondeful film and everything, but I just...I don't know. I can't...understand. It's just hard for me. I mean, is it really right for the Israelis to seek revenge on the Palestinians like that? (Actually, I don't know if that really happened; I think that was just a plot for the movie).

But what is true is that the Israelis and Palestinians go at each other for this homeland, constantly vying for a place to belong. It is hard to accept for me, how there doesn't seem to be and end to this fighting and a way for peace to come through. I take no side, because not only am I not Israeli or Palestinian, but I just don't understand. Why can't they just compromise?

What am I talking about? I'll probably never know what it is about this two nations that keeps them going, but I only pray that someday they will end the fighting and finally live peacefully.
